Middletown Festival

This unique family oriented festival and road race is sponsored by Citizens Bank, City of Middletown, The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business District, YMCA and Oddfellows Playhouse. The festival features Oddfellows street performers, ARTFARM’s Circus for a Fragile Planet, moonwalk, giant slide and more! Live music is provided by Run for Cover.

Tech Tees

Tech tees to the first 400 5K entrants! All remaining participants receive cotton shirts. Kids Fun Run participants receive cotton shirts.

5K Course Info

The 5K travels from Main Street in Middletown to Wesleyan University and back. Enjoy a fast, downhill finish!

Half Mile Kids Fun Run

All finishers receive ribbons. Entry for Middletown residents are waived courtesy of the Middletown Federation of Teachers.

NEW THIS YEAR! The Inaugural Middletown Bed Race!

We are introducing the Middletown Bed Race into the mix during the 2019 Citizen’s Bank Summer Fun Run! Teams of 5 will race down main street, one riding along while the four remaining teammates push the bed towards the 75 yard finish!

Post-Race Party

All participants are invited to enjoy our post-race snack, live music, street performers and awards ceremony. Most activities begin before 5k start!

Awards

  • Top three male & female finishers in each age category:

    • 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ and Wheelchair.

  • First male & female Middletown resident.

Parking

  • Riverview Parking Lot: Enter on Dingwall Drive.

  • Melilli Plaza Parking Lot: enter on DeKoven St. or on Washington Street (Route 66).

  • Both Municipal Parking Lots on Broad Street.

  • Parking free in Downtown Middletown after 4:00 p.m.

  • Middle Oak Parking Garage - this parking garage is NOT free

Please note NO parking in Metro Square Parking Lot. Cars will be towed unless you are doing business there.

Team Competition

Grab your co-worker and join us for friendly competition in one of the below categories:

  • Pratt & Whitney Corporate Competition: Fastest team gets to display the Pratt & Whitney Team trophy until next year’s race. Team members must work for the organization.

  • Urgent Ortho Healthcare Challenge: Award for largest team, fastest team and individual participant. All entrants must work in the Healthcare industry.

  • Legal Challenge: Award for fastest courthouse team and individual participant. All entrants must be an employee of one of the district courthouses in the challenge.

  • School Team: All entrants must attend the same school. Awards to fastest team and largest team in Middle School and High School divisions.

*Teams can be unlimited in size but must have at least 3. Top 3 runners on each team score.

Citizens Fighting Hunger with the Amazing Grace Food Pantry

We ask our race participants to bring non-perishable food items to support Middletown’s Amazing Grace Food Pantry, which serves more than 1,000 local families each month. Learn more about Middletown’s Amazing Grace Food Pantry.

Also Benefiting: Additional donations made to the Northern Middlesex Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA of Northern Middlesex County, Middlesex Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program, Amazing Grace Food pantry, Art Farm, Middlesex Bike Club, Kiwanis Club, Oddfellows Playhouse, and Warm the Children.
