CT Hospice Miles for Memories

Event Information

The inaugural CT Hospice Miles for Memories walk kicks off on Saturday, August 2, 2025! We’re excited to launch this new event, bringing the community together to support Connecticut Hospice in its mission to provide the best care for patients facing terminal illness and their families.

Funds raised will directly benefit Connecticut Hospice and its ongoing commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.

Our Memory Tree

This event is all about creating a loving and supportive space for those who are going through a difficult time—whether you’ve lost someone special or are caring for a loved one who is seriously ill, you’re not alone.

To honor that, we’re introducing a special part of the walk this year: the Memory Tree. This beautiful artificial tree will be on display at the event, and we’ll have cards available for a suggested donation of $5. You’re invited to write the name of your loved one, a favorite memory, or anything else from the heart, and hang it on the tree. All donations will help support the compassionate care provided by Connecticut Hospice.

By the end of the walk, the tree will be filled with heartfelt messages and memories—a powerful tribute to those we love and remember. After the event, we encourage you to take your message card home as a keepsake and a reminder of the love and support that surrounds you.

Peer-To-Peer Fundraising

When you register for the CT Hospice Miles for Memories Walk, you’re not just joining an event—you’re joining a mission. You’ll have the opportunity to create your own peer-to-peer fundraising page, making it easy to share your mission, honor a loved one, and inspire others to give.

Every dollar you raise supports Connecticut Hospice and the compassionate end-of-life care they provide to patients and families across our state. From comfort and dignity in a patient’s final days to emotional support for families, your efforts help fund vital programs and services when they’re needed most.

And as a special thank-you, if you raise $5,000 or more, you’ll receive a dedicated brick in honor of your loved one. The brick will be placed behind the CT Hospice building by the water—a peaceful spot you can visit anytime to reflect and remember.

The Connecticut Hospice

Connecticut Hospice is a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate, comprehensive hospice and palliative care. Founded in 1974, it was the first hospice in the United States and remains a leader in end-of-life care.

The organization offers inpatient hospice care at its 52-bed waterfront hospital in Branford, CT, as well as home-based hospice and palliative care services for patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. Services include pain management, medical care from board-certified physicians and APRNs, emotional and spiritual support, bereavement counseling, social work, respite care, and expressive arts therapies.

Connecticut Hospice operates on a flexible care model, allowing patients to transition between home and inpatient care as needed. As a nonprofit, it relies on donations to support its customized services beyond what insurance covers.
