Citizens Bank 5K Summer Fun Run
Wednesday evening. July 19, 2017
This unique family oriented festival and road race is sponsored by Citizens Bank, City of Middletown, The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business District, YMCA and Oddfellows Playhouse. The festival features Oddfellows street performers, ARTFARM’s Circus for a Fragile Planet, moonwalk, giant slide and more! Live music is provided by Run for Cover.

4:30 p.m. Packet Pickup & Race Day Registration
6:30 p.m. ½ Mile Kid’s Fun Run
6:45 p.m. 5K Start
7:00-8:00 p.m. Post-Race Celebration
7:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony
Kids Fun Run: Kids can join the fun with this half-mile run on Main St. All finishers receive ribbons. Entry fees for Middletown residents in the Kids Race are waived courtesy of the Middletown Federation of Teachers. All children who enter will receive a complimentary single use pass for Kidcity Children’s Museum. Awards Top three male & female finishers: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ and Wheelchair. The first male & female Middletown resident also receive awards. All finishers of the Kids Run receive ribbons.
Tech Tees to the first 500 5K entrants! First 150 participants in the Kids Fun Run receive cotton shirts. All remaining participants receive cotton shirts.
Showers available after the race at the Middlesex County YMCA.
Post-Race Party! All participants are invited to enjoy our post-race snack, live music, street performers and awards ceremony. Most activities begin before 5k start!
Compete as an individual or as part of our Team Competition!
Pratt & Whitney Corporate Team Competition: Winning team gets to display the Pratt & Whitney Team trophy until next year’s race. Teams can be of unlimited size – three fastest runners determine team time. Also award to largest team. Team members must work for the organization. Applications must be sent together with a team roster.
Urgent Ortho Healthcare Challenge: Award for largest team, fastest team and individual participant. All entrants must work in the Healthcare industry. Teams can be of unlimited size – three fastest runners determine team time.
Legal Challenge: Award for fastest courthouse team and individual participant. All entrants must be an employee of one of the district courthouses in the challenge. Teams are already pre-set.
School Team: All entrants must attend the same school. Teams can be of unlimited size – three fastest runners determine team time. Awards to fastest team and largest team in Middle School and High School divisions.

Amazing Grace Food Pantry: We ask our race participants to consider bringing non-perishable food items to support Middletown’s Amazing Grace Food Pantry, which serves more than 1,000 local families each month. Learn more about Middletown’s Amazing Grace Food Pantry here! Those who fundraise or donate $100 or more receive complimentary entry to the 5K! Email firstname.lastname@example.org once you have raised $100 or more.
