How can JB Sports help?

On November 12, 2022, John experienced a life-altering event when a severely impaired driver veered into his lane, colliding head-on with his bicycle at an impact of 70 miles per hour. Abandoned in a cow pasture, he was fortunate to be discovered by a compassionate stranger. Despite suffering from critical injuries, including the loss of part of his left leg and extensive damage to his left arm, right foot, left femur, left hip, pelvis, and neck, John's resilience shone through.

Over the course of his recovery, John underwent numerous surgeries, with nearly 1,000 surgical staples needed to mend his body. He spent an extensive period in intensive care before transitioning to a rehabilitation facility for almost three months. During this time, he endured up to eight daily physical therapy sessions, which aimed to help him adapt to his prosthetic left leg and regain mobility in his left arm.

Remarkably, John maintained an unwaveringly positive outlook throughout his ordeal. He dedicated countless hours to improving his gait and his arm's range of motion.

John's journey taught him the value of unwavering determination and taking small steps toward large  goals. Before the crash, he had already demonstrated his athletic prowess, earning spots on the All-New England Cross-Country team and the All-Big East Track team during his time at UCONN. A decade ago, he embraced triathlon, consistently achieving top rankings in his age group in events across the Northeast.

In mere months after receiving his prosthetic leg, John made incredible progress, moving from a walker or cane to walking independently. He also regained a significant portion of his arm's mobility.

Today, John shares his inspiring story through corporate and motivational speaking engagements, customizing his message to suit any audience. For inquiries regarding his rates and availability, please fill out the form below!
